JESUS IS REAL
CHORUS
Jesus is real! I know the Lord is real to me!
Jesus is real! I know the Lord is real to me!
Sometimes I’m feeling low, nowhere to go
Jesus comes along and He makes me strong
For I know, Oh Jesus is real!
Repeat Chorus
Sometimes when I’m feeling down, no one around
Jesus is a friend
For I know, Oh Jesus is real!
I can feel Him in my hands, feel Him in my feet
I know the Lord will take good care of me
For I know, Oh Jesus is real!
I can feel Him in my heart, feel Him in my soul
I can even feel Him from the crown of head to my toes.
For I know, Oh Jesus is real!
VAMP
Real! Real! Real! Yes He’s real.
I know He is. I know He is. I know He is. Yes He’s real.
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yes He’s real.
I know He is. I know He is. I know He is.
For I know, Oh
For I know, Oh
For I know, Oh Jesus is real!

TAKE ME TO THE KING
Take me to the King. I don't have much to bring
My heart is torn in pieces. It's my offering
Take me to the King
Truth is I'm tired. Options are few
I'm trying to pray, But where are you?
I'm all churched out, Hurt and abused
I can't fake. What's left to do?
Truth is I'm weak. No strength to fight
No tears to cry, Even if I tried
But still my soul, Refuses to die
One touch will change my life
Take me to the King. I don't have much to bring
My heart's torn in pieces. It's my offering
Lay me at the throne. Leave me there alone
To gaze upon Your glory, And sing to You this song
Please take me to the King
Truth is it's time to stop playing these games
We need a word for the people's pain
So Lord speak right now, let it pour like rain
Oh, yeah, we're desperate, we're chasing after you
No rules, no religion. I've made my decision To run to You, the healer that I need
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I WILL TRUST IN THE LORD
I will trust in the Lord
I will trust in the Lord
I will trust in the Lord until I die
I will trust in the Lord
I will trust in the Lord
I will trust in the Lord until I die
I'm goin' to treat everybody right . . .
I'm goin' to stay on the battlefield . . .
I'm goin' to stay on a bended knee . . .
I'm goin' to watch, fight and pray . . .
THE BLOOD NEVER LOSES
Put it up to the greatest issue
Put it up to the highest mountain
Put it to the test
The blood never loses
Put it up to transgression
Put it up to recession
Put it to the test
The blood never loses
The intensity doesn't even matter
When the blood steps in things shatters
Your problems can't compete where they don't compare
The blood of Jesus can interrupt warfare
His children He never refuses
The blood never loses!
The blood never loses!
(repeat from beginning)
Oh, I found the blood of Jesus
Can break through strongholds
Break through principalities
It won't lose
Oh, the blood of Jesus
Can protect you from wickedness
It speaks louder than words
It won't lose
People are gonna wonder how you're gonna win
Wonder how your end's gonna be
And you tell 'em
The blood's gonna help me win
The blood's gonna help me win
VAMP
Put the blood on it, The blood on it
The blood on it, The blood on it
The blood on it, the blood never loses
People gonna wonder how you're gonna win
Wonder how your end's gonna be
And you tell 'em The blood's gonna help me win
HOLY COMMUNION
When we approach God's Holy Table, we do so with respect and reverence for who God is. It is not done with noise, commotion, moving around, or confusion. Please respect God by respecting His Holy Table.
CONFESSION OF FAITH
The church acknowledges as its head, God, the Creator of all heaven and earth, Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the Holy Spirit the Comforter. It acknowledges as brothers and sisters in Christ, all who share in this confession. It believes that all of those who are committed to building of God's Kingdom and strive to keep His commandments are invited to partake of the Lord's Supper and that all such, with their families, are invited to the Ordinance of Baptism.
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH:
“APOSTLES” CREED
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. The third day he arose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty: from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Church universal], the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sin, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.
THE LORD’S SUPPER
I Corinthians 11: 23 – 34
Pastor: For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you. That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
People: And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, Take eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Pastor: After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the New Testament in my blood: this do ye, as often as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
People: For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord’s death till he comes.
Pastor: Wherefore, whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
People: But let a person examine themselves, and so let them eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
Pastor: For they that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to themselves, not discerning the Lord’s body.
People: For this cause, many are weak in [Faith] and sick among you, and many sleep.
Pastor: For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
People: But when we judge, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
Pastor: Wherefore, my friends, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.
All: And if a person hungers, let them eat at home; that they come not together to this table, disregarding its purpose, and unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
“Black History Month is meant to remedy this inequity of representation.” ~Woodson
Carter G. Woodson was born in 1875 in Buckingham County, Virginia. The son of former slaves, he worked in mines and quarries until the age of 20 when he decided that his mind would be a terrible thing to waste long before the sentiment became a slogan for the United Negro College Fund.
Woodson received his high school diploma at the age of 22 and went on to get a master's degree in history from the University of Chicago. In 1912, Woodson received a doctorate in history from Harvard. Unable to land a teaching post at the elite university because Harvard wasn't hiring black professors, Woodson went to teach at one of the nation's leading black colleges, Howard University.
Known for writing the contributions of black Americans into the national spotlight, Woodson spent his life investigating, documenting, and publishing African-American history. In 1915, Woodson became the director of the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History. A year later he was named founder and editor of the association's scholarly quarterly, "The Journal of Negro History."
Woodson, convinced that the history of African-Americans was being ignored and misrepresented, took steps to put things right. In 1915 Woodson founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History, now the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH). The association was created to promote and preserve African-American history and culture.
Woodson believed the study of black history, using the tools of scholarly research and writing was extremely important and valuable to our historical cloth. Perhaps more importantly, Woodson knew that in a society where black intelligence and moral worth is incessantly demeaned and devalued, studying black history would serve as a psychological defense shield for black students against the assaults of white supremacy.
So he embarked on a quest to establish a national celebration of black heritage. In 1926, Negro History Week was born. Woodson chose February for reasons of tradition and reform. Well aware of the pre-existing celebrations, Woodson built Negro History Week around traditional days of commemorating the black past.
The event was chosen to be the second week of February between the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. It's also the month the NAACP was founded. He was asking the public to extend their study of black history, not to create a new tradition. In doing so, he increased his chances for success.
